Denise Sorvala, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, plays a key role at Mahoney Design Studio as the Operations Director. The backbone of the studio's operations, Denise’s finesse for organizing and planning enables the creative team to focus on designing beautiful, functional spaces for their clients. She meticulously manages everything from the design process to project installations. Her attention to detail ensures that each project is executed flawlessly.
Denise’s journey into creative arts began with formal dance training, where she mastered ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and acrobatics—these early years instilled in her a love for creativity, discipline, and teamwork.
Transitioning from dance to interior design, Denise honed her skills in retail visuals and set styling before entering interior design. She also holds a BFA in Interior Design, underpinning her professional expertise. Her education and diverse experiences have shaped her approach to creating enduring and beautiful spaces.
Denise's work ethic is deeply influenced by her mother, a planner who could single-handedly run a household of five and by her late mentor, an Art Director, who worked alongside her and guided her through retail television at HSN.
When she's not managing the studio, Denise enjoys gardening, yoga, and exploring the Tampa Bay area with her family, including her husband, daughter, and their two dogs. Her aspirations extend beyond her professional life, with dreams of traveling the world, relearning French, and renovating a historic home.
