Our design services begin with a base project commitment of $20,000, which serves as a retainer exclusively for the procurement of products. In addition to this, we apply a design fee that amounts to 30% of the project's base value. This fee, totaling $6,000, is for our comprehensive design services and will be conveniently invoiced in installments.

As these projects may involve everything from advising on finishes to reimagining a whole floor plan to renovating single rooms or the entire home, we generally bill at an hourly rate.

The key distinction between an interior designer and an interior decorator centers on their areas of expertise and education. An interior designer possesses the knowledge to work with architects in shaping the interior space of a home. They are involved in the design process from the beginning, considering both functionality and aesthetics.

Conversely, interior decorators focus primarily on aesthetics, enhancing spaces with furniture and decor to achieve visual appeal. While interior designers can undertake decorating tasks (which we also do at MDS), interior decorators are not trained to engage in the design process.
